Grade 7 comes with one very minor distinction that actually makes it incredibly valuable to a certain industry. The alloy contains a small amount of palladium.
More resistance
This little addition adds more to the amount of corrosion resistance that is present in the alloy. More specifically, the palladium ensures better resistance when acids are present. In truth, of all the titanium grades, it is the most corrosion resistant one.
Industry use
As for the industry we spoke of earlier, it is chemical processing. They take advantage of this grade more than anyone else does. With this industry, you will find systems and machinery that has to deal with highly volatile chemicals. They can be stored within and moving through these systems.
Thanks to the palladium, grade 7 titanium is ideal for these uses. It is also capable of preserving its resistance in extremely cold and hot temperatures.
